Belgium is a small village in northern Ozaukee County, about 35 miles north of downtown Milwaukee along I-43. It was settled in the mid-1800s by immigrants from Luxembourg, and the Luxembourg American Cultural Society's museum and cultural center here still celebrates that heritage.
The surrounding Town of Belgium is mostly farmland running east to the Lake Michigan shoreline, where Harrington Beach State Park has a long sandy beach, hiking trails and a former quarry lake.
Homes and prices
Most homes in the village are single-family houses on suburban-size lots, with a mix of older homes near the village center and newer subdivisions, plus a small number of condominiums and duplexes. The town offers farmhouses and larger rural lots. Belgium's home values are among the most affordable in Ozaukee County (see the census figures above), which appeals to buyers who want small-town living within commuting distance of Port Washington, Sheboygan and Milwaukee.

Belgium is served by the Cedar Grove-Belgium Area School District, which has schools in both villages. School district lines don't always follow municipal lines in the town, so confirm the district for any specific address.
